Description: The article analyzes the historical documents of education, namely the statutes of educational institutions from 05.08.1786r., 5.10.1804r., 8.12.1828r in the aspect of the professional status of teachers. The factors influencing the formation of the professional status of teachers. The relationship of social and professional status of teachers and found that is not always the level of social status coincides with the level of the professional status of teachers.
