Description: The article presents the situations, which may happen at the physical training classes, and demonstrates examples of urgent cases, which may occur with students which have special medical conditions (special needs) while studying swimming. The importance of safety and prevention of unexpected situations during swimming classes with students, which have special needs, have been identified as factors of effective learning. The article describes a special approach towards training of students with special needs based on the flexibility of its structure taking into account different nature and level of diseases, low condition of their cardiorespiratory systemfunctioning, physical conditions, and motivation aimed at the possibility of the prevention of unexpected situations. The results of the research can be applied at swimming training classes for students with special needs in the university.
