Description: Based on the analysis of regulatory documents, research data regarding changes in the occupational composition of Ukraine; Research conducted in 2011 by the Ministry of Education aimed at studying the status and role of the teacher in the Ukrainian society; Data quality education program TIMSS-2007 2011gg., as well as the results of a study of the global status of teachers, it was found that at the beginning of the XXI century the professional status of teachers has a negative downward trend since the mid-twentieth century. The factors that negatively influenced the development of the professional status and conditions identified, the implementation of which will contribute to raising the professional status of teachers in Ukraine.
